Epson Driver problems printing 16-bit after Mac OS updates

Here's a problem I've seen consistently over the past ten years or so: Mac OS updates cause problems in the Epson printer driver, most notably when printing 16-bit images and using the 16-bit option in the driver settings.

Last week I updated Mac OS. Today I printed a 16-bit image and the colours came out all wrong. Removing and reinstalling the Epson driver fixed the problem.

No idea why they can't seem to resolve this after so many years … but if you have a pro-grade Epson photo printer, (such as the SC-P700/900 or the SC-P9500 etc.), be sure to remove and reinstall the Epson printer driver after updating Mac OS.
